Playing
How do I fly?
Push the joystick up to speed up and down to slow down. The camera turns with you, so up is always the way you're heading. Speeding up widens your orbit; slowing down tightens it.
What are the dots ahead of my ship?
Your predicted path. Dots bunched together mean you're slow, spread out means you're fast, and they turn red where your path dips into an atmosphere.
What are the rings?
Each planet has a mission ring at a set height in its atmosphere. Pass through it to top up your fuel and raise your multiplier. Rings sit lower, and get harder, as your score climbs.
How is my score worked out?
It's how far you get from your launch point, multiplied by your multiplier. Pass through planet rings in quick succession to raise the multiplier, up to 8×. Go too long without one and it drops.
Why did my run end?
Touching a planet's surface ends a run. The atmosphere slows you down, so if you skim too low it will pull you in. Keep an eye on your fuel too: without it you can't change your orbit.
Can I move the joystick to the other side?
Yes. Go to Settings and choose Left or Right under Joystick side.
Can I replay the tutorial?
Yes. Go to Settings and tap Replay tutorial.
Can I turn off the music, sounds or vibration?
Yes, each one separately in Settings. You can also let the music keep playing over audio from other apps. Vibration (haptics) is on iPhone only.
Credits and upgrades
How do I earn credits?
You get one credit for every planet ring you pass through, plus more from daily challenges and from inviting friends.
What do upgrades do?
There are six upgrades, each with five tiers: fuel capacity, thrust, starting fuel, burn rate, drag reduction and the fuel you get from each ring. Three of them change how your ship looks.
Can I go back to a lower tier?
Yes. You can equip any tier you've unlocked.
How long does it take to unlock everything without paying?
The full set of upgrades costs 6,000 credits, which is roughly a couple of months of regular play, including daily challenges.
What can I buy?
There are two optional purchases: a pack of 1,000 credits, and Unlock all upgrades, a one-off purchase that's yours for good. You can play the whole game and unlock everything without paying.
What are daily challenges?
Three new challenges each day (easy, medium and hard) worth 5, 10 and 20 credits. Complete all three to build a streak, with bonuses at 3, 7 and 30 days. They reset at midnight your time.
Your progress
Will my progress carry over to a new phone or iPad?
Yes. Your credits, upgrades and daily challenges sync through iCloud on any device signed in to the same Apple ID. Saved run cards stay on the device they were made on.
How do I restore my purchases?
Unlock all upgrades is tied to your Apple ID, so it comes back automatically when you're signed in with the Apple ID you bought it with. Credit packs are added to your balance once and aren't restored after they're spent.
Leaderboards and sharing
How do leaderboards work?
Through Game Center. You can see the best scores of all time, this week and today, for everyone or just your friends. You'll need to be signed in to Game Center.
Can I challenge friends?
Yes. Tap Challenge a friend after a run or on the leaderboard screen, and Game Center sends them your score to beat.
What's a run card?
After every run you get a card showing your flight path, the planet rings you passed through and your score, ready to share. The app keeps your last ten.
Invites
How do invites work?
Share your invite link from the app. When a friend installs Wandernova through it and passes through five planet rings in a single run, you each get 200 credits. You can earn the inviter reward once, and each link can be used by up to five people. You both need to be signed in to iCloud.
My invite code didn't apply
After installing, open the invite link again so the app picks up the code, and check you're signed in to iCloud. Your credits arrive once you've passed through five planet rings in one run, and your friend's arrive the next time they open the app.
The beta
How do I join the beta?
Wandernova is in beta on TestFlight. Install Apple's TestFlight app, then open the beta invite link on your iPhone or iPad to install Wandernova. You'll need iOS 26 or later.
How do I send feedback?
Take a screenshot while playing and tap Share Beta Feedback, or open TestFlight, choose Wandernova and tap Send Beta Feedback. If the app crashes, TestFlight may ask whether you'd like to send a crash report too. You can also use the contact form.
Will my beta progress carry over?
Yes. Your credits and upgrades carry over to the App Store version through iCloud. Anything bought during the beta is a free test purchase and won't carry over.
Privacy
What data does Wandernova collect?
Only anonymous gameplay analytics, never your name, email or location. Players in the UK and EU are asked first, and anyone can switch it off in Settings. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I delete my data?
The privacy policy explains what we collect and how to ask us to delete it.
Still need help?
Send us a message and we'll get back to you. If something isn't working, it helps to include your device model, iOS version and the app version (shown in Settings in the app).
